1: Objective
To honor a coach of a high school girl’s lacrosse team
in the
Western New York area who has contributed to the development of the
sport of high school girl’s lacrosse.
Section
2: Selection
Process
1. The Nomination Form for Coach of the Year honor must be submitted
to the chairperson of the All Western New York Team Selection Committee
by the
3rd Monday in May.

Section
3: Criteria For Selection
1. This coach must be coaching a high school girl’s
lacrosse team in
a bona fide lacrosse league in WNY and should have contributed to the
development of the sport of high school girl’s lacrosse.
a. Section VI including ECIC, NFL and
Niagara Orleans Leagues
b. Monsignor Martin League
c. Midwest Schoolgirls Lacrosse
Association
2. The following traits should be portrayed by this candidate:
a. sportsmanship: displayed by coach and team members,
towards other players, coaches, teams, referees, league
officials, spectators, etc.
b. leadership: of players and other members of the
profession...
c. cooperative: with players, coaches, officials..
d.
dedication: to girl’s lacrosse, league, team...
e. communication: ability to communicate well with
others:
players, coaches, officials, parents, community...
f. promotion: willingness and ability to promote girl’s
lacrosse in WNY area, including national and summer opportunities..

A coach can be selected for this honor once every 3 years.

4: Trophy
Award winner will receive a traveling plaque from the WNY Chapter of
and a small
Patterson stick as a keepsake.
